La Nina causing expanding drought in U.S.

Drought Conditions have been spreading across the U.S. since late last winter, particularly in the Southwest. Dr. Art Douglas, professor emeritus at Creighton University, speaking at the 2018 Cattle Industry Convention & NCBA Trade Show, reported that two-thirds of the country has pretty bad drought conditions. The dryness, he said, is mainly due to La Nina, which will continue to dictate weather patterns over the next three months, before transitioning to a weaker El Nino by summer.
